Frequently Asked Questions
I have a pressure washer or I can get one, why would I hire you to do it for me?
There is a lot more to washing than just spraying high pressure water. In fact, most cleaning is performed using a technique known as soft washing. Using high pressure where it isn’t needed often damages siding, screens, homes and concrete and can even cause injury to the untrained individual operating the washer. VetraClean knows how to identify various substances and which solutions and methods provide the best chance to clean them.
Do you use environmentally safe solutions?
VetraClean prides itself on utilizing environmentally safe solutions. Indiana is a beautiful state and protecting the environment we all enjoy is one of our top priorities.
What is the difference between soft washing and pressure washing?
Think mechanical energy vs. chemical energy. Pressure washing uses a high pressure water stream typically used for porous substances like concrete. Soft washing focuses on utilizing special cleaning agents to safely clean surfaces like home exteriors, rooftops, trash cans, and vinyl fencing.
I have tried cleaning my siding/concrete with our garden hose and pressure washer but it is still dirty, does this mean it is ruined?
No. Home exteriors (siding, roofing, fencing, concrete, etc.) are always exposed to the environment. Most people look at their surfaces and see dirt however, it is actually known as “organics” (read: mold and mildew). These organic substances feed on heat and moisture/humidity so, using a garden hose or a pressure washer (even with most store-bought cleaners) actually feeds the organic substances, causing them grow larger and stronger which helps them adhere to surfaces and further penetrate concrete. Many people believe it is permanent and either give up or look to expensive replacement options. Please, save time, money, and energy by having a VetraClean professional take a look and come up with a plan to safely and effectively eliminate the substances and deliver the results you expect!
